The mission of the HEAT program is to provide a family fire safety program to reduce the injury, death, and property loss due to juvenile set fires as well as unsafe environments and practices. The objective of the HEAT program is to educate people of all ages on the dangers of fire, teaching them to take a personal responsibility for themselves, their families, their homes, and their surroundings: • By providing professional juvenile firesetter intervention services and resources for burn patients and their families. • By providing a comprehensive fire and life safety curriculum with age appropriate lessons and activities. • By reaching the minds of countless people each day through an informative and dynamic website that provides proactive fire and life safety messages, lessons, downloadable escape plans and home safety inspection information. • By providing a mobile education display for use in educating the patients, their families, and the public on fire prevention, burn safety and rehabilitation at events and gatherings.
